Bal Bharati Public School, Brij Vihar celebrated its 19th
Annual Day on 23rd November 2007. Shri J. Veeraraghavan, Director,
Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi and former Secretary to
Government of India in the HRD Ministry was the Chief Guest
on the occasion. The other dignitaries present on the occasion
were the members of the Board of Management of Child Education
Society, members of the school Managing Committee Principal
of other Bal Bharati Units & PTA members.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of
lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries presentation
the occasion. This was followed by Ganesh Vandana “Mangalacharana”
set to Ek Tali Taal, invoking God’s blessing for a successful
rendition of art. It concluded with salutation to God, the
Guru and the audience.
The Principal, Mr. G. Gupta presented the Annual Report highlighting
the achievements of the students in the field of academics
– co-curricular activities, games and sports. He emphasized
on the importance of the role played by school in this age
of Globalization with the aim being to help students become
a more confident and competent head- held- high. The Chief
Guest gave away prized to the Meritorious Students, All Rounders
and Young Achievers. Speaking on the occasion he praised the
achievements of the students and urged them to sincerely work
towards strengthening the social fabric of the society. He
emphasized on the importance role of the young generation
in overcoming problems & achieving goals enshrined in
our constitution.
A cultural programme followed the prize distribution ceremony.
The programme began with a musical composition, accompanied
by dances “Omkar Se Malhar Tak”, based on Raag
Puriya Dharnashree, Raag Malhar and others. This was followed
by ‘Devi Stuti’, and invocation dance describing
the power and beauty of Goddess Durga, Raag Chakrabaka and
Taal Malika intermingled with Laya to produce a beautiful
amalgam of rhythm, music and colour.
The highlight of the evening was a ballet “Murli’s
Dreamland” by the tiny tots of the Montessori Dept.
It kept the audience spellbound by the imagination enthusiasm
and excitement of the little ones. “Abhimanyu”,
a ballet depicting the plight of our youth in the modern world
was presented by Senior Students. It portrayed the life of
the valiant Abhimanyu caught in a ‘chakravyauha’
and compared it to the multifarious stress and strains threatening
today’s youth and how it is the responsibility of the
adults to offer mental and spiritual support to them.
The programme was highly appreciated by parents who were
present in large numbers.
